I saw a podiatrist for shin splints and flat feet. I then got custom orthotics. Dr said it would help with the shin splints. I still have the shin splints and it is over a year later. What is the next treatment option? I am a female young teen. I stretch before everything I do like running, practicing, start of day…etc. Please do not tell me how to fix my flat feet. Thanks a bunch. I also have a doctors appt made.

I have tried all the “do it yourself” types and they aren’t working. I have custom footbeds for my ski boots but they are too bulky for my Sidi road shoes. There must be someone in Boston that does custom molded footbeds.

What kind of shoes to wear with orthotics?

Mike J asked:

My feet severely over-pronate, but I wear custom orthotics, which would seem to obviate the problem. So, should I be wearing motion control shoes (as I do) or something else, like cushion/neutral shoes? Is there any harm in wearing motion control shoes if they’re not really needed, other than a few extra grams of weight?

Thanks

I went to the store and it seems like it would work but I don’t have $399 to spend on something that doesn’t work.
